  • Update: Docebo Earns AWS Nonprofit Competency – Dual AWS Status Is Now Official

Published May 12 2026 by Fractivo

Earlier this year, we shared the story of our 12-week engagement supporting Docebo’s pursuit of two AWS Competency designations in our Docebo case study. At the time of that publication, AWS had approved Docebo’s Education Competency within three days of submission. The AWS Nonprofit Competency application was still in review.

Today, the second designation is in. Docebo has officially announced approval of both AWS Competencies, making it one of a small number of enterprise learning platforms to hold dual AWS Competency status in Education and Nonprofit in parallel. Read Docebo’s full announcement here.

What the dual AWS Competency status confirms

With both designations validated, Docebo holds:

  • AWS Education Competency, which recognizes Docebo’s ability to deliver AI-driven, enterprise-grade learning at scale to academic institutions and large corporate L&D organizations.
  • AWS Nonprofit Competency, which recognizes Docebo’s work supporting mission-driven organizations, from international NGOs to community foundations, where operational efficiency directly shapes mission impact.

Both AWS Competencies validate that Docebo’s platform meets AWS architectural best practices for the specific needs of education and nonprofit customers.

Why earning two AWS Competencies in parallel matters

AWS Competencies are not issued lightly. Each one is the product of a rigorous technical and business review by AWS covering solution architecture, operational practices, and qualifying customer evidence, including case studies that must map to specific AWS account IDs and ACE Opportunity IDs. Earning one AWS Competency designation is a meaningful accomplishment. Earning two in parallel, across customer segments with very different proof requirements, is uncommon.

For Docebo, dual AWS Competency status delivers:

  • Increased visibility in AWS Partner Solutions Finder and AWS partner discovery tools used by enterprise and nonprofit buyers.
  • Eligibility for additional AWS funding and co-sell motions tied to the Education and Nonprofit segments.
  • An externally validated signal to buyers that the platform meets AWS’s bar for both enterprise learning and nonprofit workloads.

As Docebo’s EVP of Corporate Development and Partnerships Travis Burke noted in the announcement, the goal was to build a platform that meets the security and reliability standards the world’s most sophisticated organizations actually require, and AWS’s review confirms that bar has been met.

Fractivo’s role in the AWS Competency engagement

Fractivo served as Docebo’s fractional AWS Alliance and Competency Enablement partner through the engagement. Our work spanned AWS Competency selection and gap analysis, customer evidence development against AWS validation checklists, AWS Partner Development Manager and Partner Solutions Architect alignment, and Partner Central submission, alongside Docebo’s alliance team and the AWS PDM and PSA teams.

Thanks to Irina Furman and the broader Docebo alliance team for the partnership, and to our AWS counterparts for their thoughtful engagement at every stage.

Frequently asked questions

What is the AWS Nonprofit Competency? The AWS Nonprofit Competency is an AWS Partner Network designation that recognizes software and consulting partners with demonstrated technical proficiency and proven customer success in supporting mission-driven nonprofit organizations on AWS. Like all AWS Competencies, it requires a rigorous technical and business review.

How long does AWS Competency approval typically take? The end-to-end AWS Competency process, from initial evaluation through submission to approval, typically takes partners six months or more. Docebo completed two AWS Competency submissions in 12 weeks with Fractivo’s support, with the Education Competency approved by AWS within three days of submission.

Can an ISV hold multiple AWS Competencies? Yes. ISVs can pursue and hold multiple AWS Competencies in parallel, provided they have qualifying customer evidence and meet the validation checklist requirements for each designation. Docebo now holds both the AWS Education Competency and the AWS Nonprofit Competency.

What does AWS Competency status mean for buyers? For buyers, AWS Competency status is an independent validation by AWS that a partner’s solution meets AWS architectural best practices for a specific industry or use case. According to a Canalys study, the majority of AWS customers rank AWS Specializations including Competencies as a top-three selection criterion when choosing a partner.
